Juice Fasting Diaries – day 1

Welcome to this new series at Plant Based Fitness. The Juice Fasting Diaries are all about my journey through a longer juice fast. During this fast, I will only consume juices made 80% from vegetables and 20% from fruits. I use a slow speed masticating juice by Omega and then I strain all the juices. I supplement with Omega 3 oils made from Algae and B12 the sources of which are detailed below.

These episodes are meant to be short and honest so I will not be doing masses of editing. It’s really a diary to keep me accountable so you might learn what to expect if you are thinking of doing something similar.

I start the day with hot water, 2 slices of lemon and 2-3 slices of ginger plus the juice from quarter of a lemon. An hour later I have this celery juice (make sure you wash all the ingredients!)

Celery Juice

  • half a head of organic celery (only slightly more expensive than regular)
  • one apple
  • 2 inch chunk of ginger roughly peeled
  • quarter of a lemon including some of the peel
  • 2 shakes of cayenne pepper

Drink within 5 minutes of juicing (after straining) and chew the juice.
